Sail Newport is looking forward to a fantastic 2013 J/22 World Championship!

The event headquarters will be located within Sail Newport's Waterfront Center in picturesque Fort Adams State Park.  This facility, new to Sail Newport, is the site of the former Museum of Yachting and is at the far northern end of the park property.  Boats will be docked at Sail Newport's Alofsin Piers.  Located adjacent to the Waterfront Center, the Alofsin Piers have ample dock space, water and power hookups, and plenty of free parking.  Each evening during the event, Sail Newport will be hosting social activities under the event tent.  Beer will be flowing and good times will surely be had by all.

We have received a number of questions regarding measurement.  All competitors are reminded that measurement of the boat, sails, and body weigh-in will take place between the hours of 1000 and 1800 on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday in the Mule Barn.  An email will be sent out after the closing of the registration period to all competitors providing detailed instruction as to how to proceed through the measurement process.  In the meantime, all competitors are reminded that they must bring with them a copy of their valid measurement certificate, proof of insurance, and proof of class membership.  Additionally, all competitors are reminded of new class rule 6.12 which mandates that each boat carry with them a 19 meter towline of any diameter or material.
